Please note: I have created a new website. All content that used to be on this site (Bio, Compositions and Recordings, Upcoming Performances, Promo Kit, Writings, Contact Info) has now moved to http://keanesouthard.instantencore.com. This website (www.keanesouthard.blogspot.com), which has always technically been a blog but has been manipulated to look like a regular website, is now an actual blog about my activities as a composer and pianist.
I will be spending 7 weeks, from March 12-April 27, as composer-in-residence at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City, Nebraska. While there, I plan on completing my new Piano Concerto, which is being commissioned by the Sounds of Stow Chorus and Orchestra.
I am also excited to announce that together with the Sounds of Stow, we will begin a Kickstarter project in order to raise funds for the commission. The campaign will be launched in mid-March (exact date TBA) that will last for about 30 days. This is your chance to become a part of the creation of a work by pledging, and in return you will receive cool prizes, such as an mp3 recording of the work as recorded at the premiere, tickets to the premiere, a signed copy of the score, and more! Please check back on this website in mid-March for a link to the project page where you can learn more about the project, the rewards, and how to pledge, or sign up for my e-newsletter to receive notice when the project is launched.
